Everyone has them nowadays. They can be found at home, at the airport, in a car, even outside. What are they, you ask? Portable music players, such as, CD players, MP3’s, and Ipods. They have grown in quantity and in gigs. They can now have pictures, lyrics, games, Internet. There are different types of accessories. Such as covers, speakers, and headphones. It would seem like everyone has one. Walking down the street or down a school hallway, people have the headphone buds stuck in their ears. The community is affected by this new piece of technology. This subject is important, because music players are vastly found and affect everyone, in one way or another. The subject of if it connects people to others is arguable. Some will say that it brings people together through music, while others say that having the headphones in makes them unapproachable. The music players make people have more things to converse about, which leads to them connecting.
The research that will be used will mostly be observational. There will also be research on the background of music players and the way they have grown. I hope to find articles about how music players connect or disconnect them from others. Also on how a music player can affect the person’s mood.
Portable music players have made a huge impact on society. They started from tapes, to CD players, to MP3 players and Ipods. They have become a trend to have and it is rare to find someone without one. A song on a music player can start of a conversation. It connects people who have the same taste in music and sometimes people who have different.
You could also try and look up more on its unique uses such as with having children listen to music to develop there brains and create possible "baby Einsteins", also how it brings people together making connections and possible new relationships with "concerts", etc.
ReplyDeleteSo far its looking pretty good, how do you plan on researching observational though?
The history of its should probably not be something too focused on due to it may move off your thesis and onto something else
To my lil friend~>
ReplyDeleteI like your topic, it applies to our society, especially our campus, because no matter where you go there are people listening to music... im guilty of it too! ;) The avenue you are taking will be the easiest to research and i agree with it. I know from personal experience that if i have my music playing i play it as loud as it can get and i cant hear much going on around me... and you are the same way so you can use personal experience ;).
